Welcome in Hualien, one of the 8 Taiwan's districts . Hualien is located in the

east cost, the less populated, and where a lot of arborigene, the Ami, keep

staying .
But before to continue, I'm going to briefly present my self :

first day of my trip in Taipei 

Jerome Tourat, and I come from France, 21 . Here, everybody call me Jeje, pronunciation is easier :) . If i'm here, is because i do enjoy  activities in nature : rock-climbing, hiking, skiing ... So I decided to join this project ! after 1 days spent in trains and plane, i reached Taipei and I stayed 3 days with Petra and Semen, both come from Czech Republic, Chi and Maya, two vietnamese girls, and Zita, who come from Indonesia ! These guys are great, but we won't work in the same location . Happily , we will visit us during days off !!!

  Then, we went for few days at the training place, with all others volunteers, and here i met people who works  at present with me !

Finaly, we just get up the fastest train of the island to reach Hualien city, then you will find Lintian mountain at 1 hour by bus or train .

Here, that the Lintian Moutain forest office center that is responsible for the preservation of natural ressource of the forest . But, in the past, it was a logging base, one of the most important in taiwan . Employee worked and lived there with their family .

   At the end of the 80's, it became an cultural place, a kind of museum of the

deforestation in Taiwan and also an office that protected forest and biology .

   So, nowadays, it's a place for eco tourists too, no well known yet, especially

for foreign tourist .

   Located at the start of the valley, you can admire the diversity of tree species .

As beautiful place, just sit you few minuts and look around you

But first and foremost , this place is a cultural center . Come here and start going back in time .

Indeed, here you will learn a lot, with pictures, movies, exhibition, or guide . Log process, history of this log center, which is stongly linked to the history of taiwan or kind of wood ... but, you should discover by yourself coming into .
